At the core of my practice lies a fundamental question: Why do human beings adorn themselves?

It may be in pursuit of beauty, an act of self-expression, or a way of protection.

Yet none of these fully answer the question. I sense instead a more primal impulse—an instinct that precedes reason.

When a person chooses what to wear, the choice often seems deliberate, yet at times it is made almost unconsciously, without rationale.

Why that garment, why that piece of jewelry?

Beyond function or aesthetics, chance and the unconscious often serve as hidden motives.

Through jewelry—an art form that exists in closest proximity to the body—I seek to explore the threshold between adornment filled with meaning and adornment driven by impulse without meaning.

To become aware of this threshold requires a sensitivity as subtle as placing a quiet punctuation mark upon the faintest of sounds.

To not let such fleeting moments escape—this is what I value most in creation.
